Message from the President:

On behalf of Inman Motocross, I would like thank the CKMS riders for voting Inman Motocross as the 2008 track of the year! It is an honor to receive this award and we are very grateful. I am writing this to hopefully make up for the terrible speech I gave at the CKMS banquet – sorry for not mentioning everyone there.

Inman has had a track for many years - it started as a simple track back in the early 70’s and was made into a real MX track in the mid 90’s and hosted many races through 2001. Now it is back and hopefully here to stay. We are now incorporated as a Non-Profit Incorporation, so ALL the money that comes in from memberships and races goes right back into the track and community. This will continue to help grow the track into the premier MX track in Kansas.

There are many people to thank for resurrecting Inman Motocross, but these guys have donated a lot of time, sweat, money, support and/or equipment to get this track built and kept in shape: Louie Bate, Duane Brunk, David Brunk, Dave Thiessen, Brad Geren, George Brown, Don Shulz, Brad Steenson, Alan Blevins, Greg Thiessen, Gary Grubbs, Bill Flaming, Troy Cottam, Russ Ediger, Jon Brown and Keith Miller. I also want to thank my wife, Amy, and all the other family members of these guys for letting use spend the time it takes to build and maintain the track and to put on events.

Also, a HUGE thank you to the guys who are known as “The Track Builders” – Tim Holden, Josh Bohanan, Jennifer Nelson, and Jared Stephens ….Sorry I forgot to mention you at the banquet! We are sure glad that you guys (and gal) love playing in the dirt with heavy equipment and dirt bikes – the combination makes you the best at what you do. I know these guys do even more for Jeeps Club, and have done a tremendous job there also. I know they take all the complaints from riders when the track is not perfect, but riders need to remember that these guys work for peanuts and spend a LOT of time working on our tracks - you need to thank these guys every time you see them!

Of course - can’t forget our sponsors Piping Technology, Louie’s Service Center, Foley Rental, Streamline, Midwest Powersports, Mid Kansas Machine, Diesel Pickup Specialists, Rickners Cycles, and Outlaw Cycles. These companies are supporting a sport we love – use them when you can.

Also need to give a big thanks to the City of Inman for their continued support.

We are looking forward to another great season in 2009 – I promise to do a better speech at next year’s banquet when we win track of the year again :-)
